Overview

Nyerere National Park Previously known as Selous game reserve is the largest protected game reserve in Tanzania on the African continent and one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Its terrain is spread over an area of 54600 square kilometers which includes dense forests, lust green plains, mountains, and open woodlands.

The Nayerere National Park is located in southern Tanzania far away from crowded northern Tanzania. This Park gives tourists an opportunity to experience the wilderness and be very close to nature.

The Park gained worldwide tourist attraction when it was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1982. This recognition was due to its rich biodiversity and uninterrupted nature.
